The Fog Warning 1885 Painting by Winslow Homer. The gloom of the leaden weighted fog rolling in. The weight of the Halibut fish in the boat almost will be his own killing. As he tries to race back to shore or ship before the fog comes in. But the weight of his catch is holding him back.

The West Wind. Painting by Winslow Homer
A fisherman's wife goes to the ocean's edge to look into the storm to try to see her husband's boat return. The blasing wind of the increasing storm has her worried. Even though the strong wind blows her clothes back like sails, she leans into the storm, looking for her husband on the sea. She is as willing to sacrifice herself for him and he is for her. This is true White history.

She is as willing to throw herself into the storm to look for him, and join with his struggle, as she is to help him desperately live.

The Herring Net, 1885 by Winslow Homer.
Capturing the danger and skill of fisherman, balancing on the swell, with a heavy wooden boat laden with a fish catch, in the dark, low light gloom of the cold north ocean. With their fishing net holding them down to the ocean and perhaps their very own fate.

These are our White ancestors.
